Unqua Student Council holds fund drive

As part of the Massapequa School District's commitment to building good character, Unqua's Student Council, under the direction of teacher and Student Council Advisor Natalie Mazor, facilitated two schoolwide events that undoubtedly have made the holiday season a bit brighter for some lucky recipients of the students' good will and generosity.

The first, a holiday food drive planned and facilitated by the Student Council, (shown with packing items), netted more than 650 non-perishable items that were sorted, packaged, and donated to Long Island Cares. The busy group also designed and created colorful, cheery place mats that were given as gifts to residents of Massapequa's Park View Nursing Home, for use with their holiday meals.
