Knights of Columbus host Christmas poster contest
Every year Our Lady of the Island Knights of Columbus hosts a Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest. Contestants must portray their interpretation of the true meaning of Christmas. Six winners received their prizes on December 17 at the Knights of Columbus' annual Children's Christmas Party. Three of the winners were from St. Rose of Lima School, Massapequa and three from Our Lady of Lourdes School, Massapequa Park.
Shown in the photo, back row, left to right, are Joe Mattina PGK, Chairman Clem Hudson PGK and Ron Brindel GK. Winners from St. Rose of Lima School were: first place, Sara Ferrara, grade five; second place, Jacklyn Malone, grade six and third place, Thomas Cummings, grade four. The winners from Our Lady of Lourdes School were, first place, Emma Dunn, grade four; second place, Nicole Johnson, grade seven and third place, Kiera Guarieri, grade three CCD.
