Pequan is back in show business after near-death experience

John Carpenter
John Carpenter, actor/filmmaker and a resident of Massapequa Park is up to his old tricks. Since overcoming a near death accident when he was hit by a speeding car while crossing the busy Clark Boulevard near his home and in a coma for two months. At that time Carpenter was starring in the off-Broadway play The Bard.

According to his publicist John H. Meyer, Carpenter is back in show business so to speak, now. Being an independent filmmaker and a film historian he has a 2,000 plus collection of classic full-length films and invited to show them from time to time at film festivals and libraries. On January 29, 7:30 p.m. he will be showing the full length original Moon Over Miami starring Don Ameche, Betty Grable and Robert Cummings at the East Meadow Public Library, 1886 Front St., East Meadow. He also has received permission to sneak preview his latest documentary Smelling Like A Rose, his true-life story of his near death and coming out smelling like a rose. The 16 m i n u t e film is produced by his Barjon M o t i o n P i c t u r e C o m e d y Endeavors company and narrated by J o e Franklin, television and WOR radio legend. Carpenter spends most of his free time lately showing his near death film to support groups at Rehab centers and hospital.
