John T. Duerr of Massapequa Park is the newest Eagle Scout of Troop 776 and was installed at an Eagle Court of Honor. Nassau County Legislator Peter J. Schmitt paid special recognition to Eagle Scout Duerr in acknowledgment of his Eagle project, which was the construction of three park benches in the Massapequa Preserve. "John, through his project, has made a great contribution to our Preserve area, and I am pleased to proclaim January 6 as John T. Duerr Day in Nassau County," said Schmitt.
Two of Ms. Nicholas' Advanced Placement Art Students in Farmingdale High School, Cortney Norman, left and Kristen Connolly, right were chosen to exhibit their work at CW Post Long Island University.
