Leonard Sherman: former longtime Massapequan

Leonard Sherman, a former longtime Massapequa resident, died December 26, 2006 in Summit, New Jersey. He was 79 and had moved from his Croyden Avenue home in Massapequa last year.

Born in the Bronx, he lived in Massapequa for more than 40 years before moving to North Plainfield, New Jersey. For 40 years he worked as a Director of Television Research for ABC, Paramount Pictures and the Lexington Broadcast System before his retirement 18 years ago.

Mr. Sherman leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Dorothy (nee Rumbolt); his children: Carolyn AhKao and her husband Allen and Melissa Sherman; his grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Philip and William; as well as other friends and loved ones.

After a private burial was held in New Jersey, a memorial service was held in the Christian Community Church in Farmingdale on January 6, 2007.
