Patricia Velting: beloved mother and grandmother

Mother and grandmother Patricia A. Velting died January 7, 2007. She was 59 years old and had lived on Bannon Place in Massapequa Park for nine years.

Born in Queens, she moved to Baldwin and later relocated to Massapequa Park. For more than 10 years she worked as the supervising coordinator at Recco Homecare on Hicksville Road in Massapequa.

"She was a real friend who was loved by everyone that worked here," said Olympia Marchetti of Recco who added that Mrs. Velting was also a great asset to the company.

According to her family, Mrs. Velting loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and other family members.

Mrs. Velting leaves behind her children: Joanna Petroff and her husband Scot, Jeanne DeLessio and her husband Sean, Jennifer and Jason; her grandchildren: Michelle and Georgia; as well as other loved ones. Her husband, George R; predeceased her.

Mrs. Velting reposed at the James Funeral Home, 540 Broadway, Massapequa on January 9 and 10, 2007. A Funeral Mass was said at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Roosevelt, on January 10. Interment was in National Cemetery at Calverton, January 11, 2007.
