House fire on Quail Run keeps Massapequa Vamps busy; third residential fire in weeks

The Massapequa Fire Department reported another house fire this week at 37 Quail Run in East Massapequa, down the street from Berner Middle School. This fire comes on the heels of two accidental residential area fires that broke out in the past month, one in Massapequa Park and the other in the Harbor Green section of Massapequa

At 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6th, Fire Department units from Massapequa and Amityville extinguished a fire which started on the outside of the home and completely melted the yellow siding. According to police and fire reports, the fire spread quickly to an overhanging soffet and extended into the attic. No injuries were reported.
The Nassau County Fire Department is conducting an investigation into the cause of the blaze, but that information was not available at press time.
