Plaque honoring Farmingdale Board of Education members unveiled

The Farmingdale School District unveiled a plaque on Wednesday, November 1, honoring Board of Education members. The plaque, dedicated to former Board Member Trustee Dr. Philip J. Acinapuro, lists the names of all individuals who have served on the Board of Education since 1892. The District had been looking for an affordable way to show recognition to former Board of Education Members for years, and this was finally made possible thanks to Dr. Acinapuro and the funds raised during his retirement party. The plaque is now displayed in the Central Administration Lobby of Howitt Middle School.

Shown in the photo are past and current members of the Farmingdale School District Board of Education in front of the plaque, left to right, are John Lorentz, Superintendent; Russ Catanzaro, Trustee; Shari Bardash- Eivers, School Board President; Carla Peipert; Jane Schriro Rubinstein; George Schriro; Lorraine Deller, former president of the Nassau-Suffolk School Board Association; Philip Acinapuro; Charles Russo, trustee; Marie Colalucci; Stephen Wilson, Board vice president; Tina Diamond, trustee; Kathy Lively, trustee and Rick Morrison, trustee.
