Alliance-East Meadow Lodge No. 774 Knights of Pythias provided funding for the United Veterans Beacon House for homeless veterans in Freeport. This was made possible by a state grant that was secured for the organization by Pythian Senator Charles Fuschillo. The group was also able then to provide funding for other veteran programs as well. Legislator Dennis Dunne and the Director of Veterans Service Agency Ed Aulman joined in with the event.
