+The Harbor Lane Library offers programs on an ongoing basis including aerobics and toning classes, Mondays, 7:30 p.m.; Tournament Scrabble, Mondays, 11 a.m..; Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m.; strength training classes for seniors, Monday mornings, 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m; Mah Jongg, Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.; line dancing, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. and Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m. Contact the Library for details.

+Free income tax preparation will be offered from AARP for seniors on Thursdays, through April 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Central Avenue branch and on Fridays, through April 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring a picture ID, last year's tax return, W-2 form's, 1099 forms and all pertinent records to get your free income tax help.

+The artwork of Iufen Wei will be on display in the Downstairs Gallery of the Harbor Lane Library for the month of March.

+The Harbor Lane Library will host a Harbingers of Spring hands-on workshop led by artist Beth S. Goldberg on March 13, 1 p.m. Registration is required. There is a $5 materials fee payable in cash due at registration.

+A Contemporary Book Discussion Group will meet Tuesday, March 13, 12:30 p.m. at the Harbor Lane Library. This month's book is Digital Fortress by Dan Brown.

+The Harbor Lane Library will host a book reading by local author Steven Post of his book Samsara Moon, March 14, 7:30 p.m.

+Registration is underway for a bus trip to Madame Tussaud's in Manhattan, Tuesday, April 17, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The fee is $69 per person. After the museum, the group will have lunch in Chinatown at the Peking Duck Inn.

+On Monday, May 21, the library has organized a bus trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for an Amish in home dinner and dairy tour. The cost is $77 per person. Registration is underway.

+The Farmingdale Library offers computer classes for adults. Contact the Library for details.

+The volunteers are in the Library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation.

+The movie Little Miss Sunshine will be shown Thursday, March 8, 7:30 p.m. and Friday, March 9, 1:30 p.m. Doors open one half hour prior to movie.

+The Short Story Group will meet Monday, March 12, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Copies are available at the reference desk.

+The film The Quiet Man will be shown Monday, March 12, 2 p.m.

+A parent support group will be offered Monday, March 12, 7 p.m.

+Comedian Mark Brier will return to the Library Tuesday, March 13, 1 p.m. Registration is underway.

+The Plainedge Library offers a Little Patrons Enrichment Program for three and four year olds by a certified teacher. The program helps to alleviate separation anxiety, prepares for kindergarten, helps with pre-writing skills, and has interactive play, storytime and crafts. The fee is $750 for three days for four year olds and $550 for two days for three year olds. Spaces are still available. The program runs September to May.

+The Nepenthe Chamber Ensemble will perform at the Library, Sunday, March 18, 2 to 4 p.m., free of charge. Enjoy the classical music of the ensemble that brings together musicians who combine their talents in a highly unique and unusual style. In addition lighter music including waltzes, arrangements of Scott Joplin rags will be played. Refreshments will be served. To register call the Library.
