Town hearing set on Liberty site condemnation proposal

The Oyster Bay Town Board has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, March 13, to consider the condemnation of a seven-acre portion of the former Liberty Industrial Finishing Site in Farmingdale and to determine the need for additional parkland, according to Town Supervisor John Venditto.

"In December 2002, I announced that the Town had reached an agreement to purchase a 14.03-acre portion of the former Liberty Industrial Site," Supervisor Venditto said. "The Town is now moving forward to acquire another seven acres, which, like the 14.03, will be used to expand Ellsworth W. Allen Town Park."

The meeting will be held in the hearing room of Town Hall East, 54 Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay. Beginning at 10 a.m., the regular Town calendar, including the above-mentioned hearing, will be called. Following the regular Town business, the Town Board will be available to listen to public comment on any matter.
