Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society to hold Genealogy Program

On Sunday, March 18, the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society will be holding a general meeting at 2 p.m. at the Farmingdale Public Library, 116 Merritts Rd., Farmingdale. The guest speaker, Joanne R. Heffernan, will discuss beginning genealogy.

Heffernan is a licensed New York State teacher who has been exploring her family tree for 47 years, researching six nationalities. A member of the Italian Genealogical Group since 1993, she currently teaches the Beginner's Workshop for the IGG, does private mentoring, has written numerous articles, and lectures on cemetery research and other genealogical topics.
