Massapequa Park resident tours with Ithaca College Ithaca College senior Anthony Gangitano, son of Massapequa Park residents Gena and Patrick Gangitano, recently spent a portion of his winter break in the San Francisco area performing with Ithacappella, a men's a cappella ensemble from Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York. Singing everything from pop and doo-wop to bee-bop and barbershop, the 19 members of Ithacappella shared their versatile repertoire- and the group's signature onstage high jinks- with audiences at Union Square, Pier 39 and other Bay Area venues. They also sang the national anthem at a Golden State Warriors game and conducted master classes at area high schools. "The highlight of the trip was being able to sing in the hot spots of San Francisco and draw crowds of people that loved to watch us perform," Gangitano said. "Some of the really fun places to perform included Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square and Ghirardelli Square." Gangitano is majoring in speech-language pathology and audiology in the Ithaca College School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. He graduated from Massapequa High School in 2003.
