Dyslexia Association annual conference to be held on March 24

The Long Island Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (LIBIDA) and Massapequa Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) have joined together to present Long Island's most comprehensive conference on learning disabilities targeted to parents, teens, educators, administrators, advocates, and related service providers. The conference will be held on Saturday, March 24, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the McKenna School, 210 Spruce St., Massapequa Park, NY. The keynote speaker, Jonathan Mooney, will address adolescents and adults on "Learning Outside The Lines: Empowering Students Who Learn Differently."

This year's conference will cover a broad array of topics including: assistive technology, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, non-verbal learning disabilities, students' rights and self-advocacy, sensory integration, study skills and transition planning and other related topics.

All are welcome, but must register as space is limited. Onsite registration will be available on March 24, between 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Onsite registration fees will be $60 for LIBIDA members and $75 for nonmembers.
