Fundraiser in memory of April Arcuri to be held April 5
A fund raiser in the name of April Arcuri, Baldwin woman who died in a tragic car accident in 2006 at the age of 21, will be held Thursday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Westbury Manor. Money raised at the event will be used to provide a scholarship in the young woman's name.

April was a student at Baldwin High School who excelled academically and as a musician. She was a drummer in her rock band Murr and enjoyed boating, clamming and race car driving. The accident in which she lost her life was the result of a mechanical failure in the vehicle she was operating.

She was described by her teachers as "an intelligent, hard working, versatile, dynamic and multifaceted individual who was also a kind and accepting person who easily transcended social boundaries. Her approach to life was to accept no limitations for her ambitions.

For more information about the event or for tickets, call Ann Marie Dee at 799-1845.
