by Tiffany Elliott

Joe Altadonna
Mayor James Altadonna, Jr. said he was pleased with the number of votes received in the March 20 election, despite the fact that the race was uncontested. In that election, Altadonna and Trustees Harry Jacobson and Joe Pinto won two year seats with 292 residents casting ballots.

"I am very pleased with the turnout. Two or three years ago only 225 people came out," said Altadonna. "Every vote counts when trustees ask for additional funding for the community.

There are 12,915 registered voters in the Village and 17,500 residents.

Mayor James Altadonna received 277 votes for his fourth two-year term, while trustees Harry Jacobson received 267 allowing him a fourth two year term and trustee Joe Pinto his his fifth, two-year term with 277 votes.

According to Village officials, there were problems with a machine and the votes were handwritten.

The administration has said they are looking forward to continuing infrastructure reconstruction, park refurbishing and general beautification of the hamlet.
