At the Library... +Free income tax preparation will be offered from AARP for seniors on Thursdays, through April 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Central Avenue branch and on Fridays, through April 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring a picture ID, last year's tax return, W-2 forms, 1099 forms and all pertinent records to get your free income tax help. +The work of local artist Armando M. Pisano will be on display for the month of April in the Downstairs Gallery of the Harbor Lane library. +The Massapequa Public Library will be closed Easter Sunday, April 8. Plainedge 1060 Hicksville Road + 735-4133 +On Monday April 9, 10 to 11 a.m. Carol Kaplowitz, from the Institute for Health and Life Planning, Inc., will present an updated educational seminar on the New York State partnership For Long-Term Care program. The seminar will answer many questions such as: How will the new law affect me and my family? What are the new options available with the program and who is eligible? What are the benefits and restrictions? Are there alternative solutions? +Professional chess master Joel Salmon will offer an afternoon of chess for young adults, sixth grade and up. For beginners, the program will run 2 to 3 p.m. If you have never played chess, or have just played a little bit, you can learn how to play. All moves and rules will be covered. For intermediate/experienced players, the program will be held 3 to 4 p.m. You can learn strategies and tactics. Adults are welcome. There is a limit of 25 for each session. Free tickets are available.
