Plainedge students learn the meaning of great character

Plainedge's Schwarting students are learning the meaning of great character in a character education program designed to teach them caring towards themselves and others.

Throughout the year, the students will make use of literature and hands-on activities to encourage discussion and practice of certain positive character traits. Some upcoming character traits being taught include tolerance, honesty, self-discipline, responsibility, respect, perseverance and sportsmanship.

Students will also have the opportunity to be part of the Character Wall of Fame, exemplifying a student in each class every month that showed strong character. The winners will have lunch with Principal Eric Nezowitz.
