Plainedge charity soccer tournament scores big

The Plainedge Soccer Club hosted its eighth Annual "Kids Helping Kids" Charity Indoor Soccer Tournament on Friday, November 24, through Sunday November 26.

The tournament was held in the gym at Plainedge High School and featured 68 intramural co-ed teams. The tournament raised and donated thousands of dollars to various charity organizations across Long Island. This year, the donations will benefit the following organizations: The Mairead Ryan Foundation, The American Cancer Society's Send a Kid to Camp Program, Cure Mommy's Breast Cancer, The Christian Jacobsen Foundation, and the St. Jude Children Hospital.

For the fourth year in the row, all toys collected during the tournament were donated through the Plainedge Middle School Toy Drive, led by Jennifer Marchignoli, to the Maria Regina Outreach Program for distribution to needy kids during the holidays.
