Red Thunder Roll In First Waldbaum's Cup Game

The Massapequa Red Thunder started the spring off with a victory in the first round of the Waldbaum's Cup. Facing last season's toughest opponent, the Merrick Rebels, they faced an early deficit of 1-0. But just like last season the Red Thunder rolled back with two goals of their own to claim victory. Jimmy Golaszewski, started of the scoring on a breakaway. Then Nick Vinberg kept the action coming with a goal of his own of a brilliant pass from Billy Fox. Joe Arceri's presence was felt the entire game with great pressure on the ball. After the early goal, Nick Roth prevented any other shots from scoring and secured the victory in net. The Massapequa Red Thunder will advance to the next round in two weeks. Good luck and great team effort.
