Two cars collide; three seriously injured

Two automobiles collided at Merrick Road and Ocean Avenue, Massapequa on 1:35 p.m., Wednesday, March 28. Nassau County Police arrived at the scene and requested an immediate response from the Massapequa Fire Department as people were trapped in one of the automobiles and the Jaws of Life were needed. Fire Department ambulances and other units responded to the scene.

The operators were identified as Erica Long and Judith Schlosser of Massapequa. Three people sustained major injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

Merrick Road was closed off for more than four hours while the investigation into the accident continued. No summonses were issued to either driver.
