MPK Homemaker's Council holds March meeting
The Homemaker's Council - Massapequa Park Day Chapter held its March meeting in St. David's Lutheran Church's F e l l o w - ship Hall on March 2.

D r . Sally Ann Drucker, PhD. presented a dramatic, in cost u m e , r e c r e - ation of Rosie the Riveter, a composite of women who did homefront defense work during World War II. Dr. Drucker's program was followed by an "in character," questions and answer period. At the February meeting Carol Blasie and Barbara Johnson who co-chair the meeting programs arranged to have Kathleen Rice, Nassau County DA as the guest speaker. The April meeting will feature Massapequa Park's own John Carpenter, actor/filmmaker who will show his latest film Smelling Like a Rose.

Shown in the photo, left to right, are June Neumen holding the old style thermos; Barbara Johnson; Dr. Sally Ann Drucker PhD. as Rosie the Riveter in her overalls, bandana and her vintage lunch pail and Carol Blasie pose for a picture after the meeting.

The members are shown enjoying the World War II program that may have brought back old memories to some.
