Where's my tax freeze, Mr. Suozzi?
Dear Editor:

Tom Suozzi leads Nassau County into a $165 million budget deficit and he wants to raise my taxes another four percent to pay for it?

And while Tom Suozzi announced a hiring freeze more than a year ago, it seems Suozzi likes to break his own rules. Newsday uncovered that Suozzi recently hired five of his former campaign aides for a total of $425,000 of our tax dollars.

Nassau taxpayers are being taxed enough. Instead of raising our taxes more, Suozzi should eliminate the deficit by cutting unnecessary spending from the county's budget. He should also get rid of the jobs he created for his five campaign workers. The $425,000 should be used to help this budget deficit instead of my tax dollars. We shouldn't have to pay at the expense of a hypocrite.
