Fourth grade students at North Side Elementary hold food drive

Ms. Knispel's fourth grade class at North Side Elementary School in Farmingdale, has taken it upon itself to act on helping those in need. The children made signs, visited classrooms and made morning and afternoon announcements in the school to ask for food donations. Leading by ex- ample, these students brought in food for donation to Island Harvest. In one week, this group collected 250 pounds of food. The class began the project learning about empathy and how to feel for those who go to bed hungry.
