Great Sounds of Jazz concert April 29 Oyster Bay Town Councilman Angelo A. Delligatti announced that the Town's "Great Sounds of Jazz" concert series, free to Town residents, will present the Agora Quartet on Sunday, April 29. The show will take place at New York Institute of Technology's Salten Hall, beginning at 3 p.m. "The newly formed Agora Quartet showcases the sounds of jazz blended with rhythms from the northern regions of Brazil," Councilman Delligatti said. "The guitarist, drummer, bass player and pianist share a multi-cultural approach to improvised music." Councilman Delligatti noted that all four musicians are formally trained with jazz and classical backgrounds.
The "Great Sounds of Jazz " concert series is sponsored by the Cultural and Performing Arts (CAPA) Division of the Town of Oyster Bay's Department of Community and Youth Services. Anyone interested in obtaining a schedule of free concerts should call 797-7900.
