Massapequa Schools “Jump Rope for Heart”

Around the Massapequa Public School District, "Jump Rope for Heart" is always an action-packed event that students look forward to. This physical fitness challenge promotes health, wellness and good character through the spirit of community service. This year was no different, as the amount of money each school raised for the American Heart Association clearly shows. In just one shining example, more than 377 students at Unqua Elementary School not only worked hard with their jump ropes but also managed to raise more than $17,000 for the American Heart Association. The money will help fund heart health research and develop education materials that teach the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
