+In the Downstairs Gallery of the Harbor Lane Library, the Wednesday Morning Art Class will have its annual art show during the month of May

+On Thursday, May 3, 7 p.m. at the Central Avenue building Marion Hickey will teach a two-string necklace craft. All materials will be provided. There is a $3.50 materials fee payable at registration.

+For young adults, Nancy McCormack returns, Friday, May 4, 4:30 p.m. for a ceramic votive candle craft, in time for Mother's Day. There is a $3 materials fee.

+On Monday, May 7, 7:30 p.m. the Distinguished Artists Concert Series will host Buddy Merriam and Back Roads at the Harbor Lane Library

+On Monday, May 21, the library has organized a bus trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for an Amish in home dinner and dairy tour. The cost is $77 per person. Registration is underway.

+The volunteers are in the library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation.

+On Sunday, May 6, 2 p.m. Lisa Winters will offer a musical tribute to Irving Berlin along with a slide show of his life. Seating is first come, first served.

+The short story group will meet Monday, May 7, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Copies are available at the reference desk.

+The movie I Remember Mama, will be shown, Monday, May 7, 2 p.m. The movie stars Irene Dunne and Barbara Bel Geddes

+Computer Kindergarten for Grown-Ups will be offered Tuesday, May 8, 7 to 9 p.m. This is a slowpaces user-friendly workshop for first-time computer users. The cost is $20 per person. Registration is underway.

+The Plainedge Library is offering a trip to "Behind the Scenes NYC" to the New York Public Library, lunch at Vita Restaurant and The Amato Opera Theater, Tuesday, May 29, 9:45 p.m. The cost is $80. Registration is under way.

+On Saturday, May 5, the Amityville Library will offer a genealogy double feature and lunch. Basic Genealogy will be offered from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will teach the steps of getting started in examining your family's history. Lunch will be held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. followed by historian, genealogist, freelance writer and business owner Sandi Brewster-Walker who will discuss the use of different research methods presented earlier in the day. Registration is underway.
