Vincent Scinta, 36-year Massapequan & Pilot
During World War II, he proudly served in the Air Force Special Services and later, as a civilian, enjoyed many hours piloting his Cessna. He lived on Sycamore Street in Massapequa for 36 years and moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1981. According to his daughter, Joyce, he was a gifted organist who loved to boat in the Great South Bay and was founder of Scinta's Sunoco Service Station in Seaford. "He was a very loving husband and father who lived a full active, life," said his daughter who recalled how each year the family summered in their cabin in upstate New York. In Sarasota, he was an active member of the Incarnation Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge. He leaves behind his c h i l d r e n : Vincent III, Joyce Scinta Osman of E a s t S e t a u k e t and Joanne; his grandc h i l d r e n : J u l e n e , J e a n i n e , Brittany and Jeffrey; his great grandson, Lincoln; his siblings: Ralph, Arthur and Idee; as well as other loved ones and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Gloria, his daughter, Linda and his sister, Mary.
Mr. Scinta reposed at the Palms Funeral Home, Sarasota, Florida on April 10 and 11, 2007. Funeral Services were held on April 12, 2007 at the funeral home followed by private interment next to his wife at the Palms Funeral Home Memorial Park.
