Linda Scinta: 1969 Massapequa H.S. Graduate

Linda Carol Scinta, a world traveler who lived in Massapequa for more than 22 years, died on January 22, 2007. She was 55 and graduated Massapequa High School in 1969.

Born November 24, 1951, she was raised in Massapequa and went on to live an adventurous life visiting and living in England, Italy, Germany, Haiti, Oklahoma, New Orleans, Pennsylvania and finally Tennessee and Florida.

In her early 20's, Linda was a Corvette enthusiast and was one of the few, if only, young ladies to be part of the Corvette Club.

According to her sister, Joyce, she also tried to get her flying license until the day the instructor stalled the plane, bringing the engine to a pernicious halt. From there on, she decided to let her father, a private pilot for commercial airliners, transport her to favored destinations.

"Linda, at a mere five-foot, was a b e a u t i f u l and vivacious blonde who lived a full life," said Joyce who added that her sister loved to make people l a u g h . " M e n t i o n her name to anyone who knew and loved her and they would respond with a big smile."

In addition to her sister Joyce and her family of East Setauket, she leaves behind her brother Vincent III and his family and her sister Joanne. She was predeceased by her parents, Gloria and Vincent.

Ms. Scinta reposed at the Palms Funeral Home, Sarasota, Florida and was interred with her parents in the Palms Funeral Home Memorial Park.
