Albany Avenue students plant a memory for beloved teacher, Patricia Weisbrod

In memory of Patricia Weisbrod, a beloved special education teacher, the kindergarten students at Farmingdale's Albany Avenue School, planted sunflower seeds during their thematic unit on plants. Sunflowers were one of Weisbrod's favorite plants. These seeds are left to grow and the children are able to see the progress the plant has made when they return as first graders.

Shown in the garden are teachers Judy Gardiola, Karen Foley, and returning first grade students Sofia Mangiaracina, Gregory Monteleone, Sofia Khalek and Rena Michaels.
