On May 1, 1969 the Kiwanis Fishing Bridge located in the Massapequa Preserve was completed and turned over to Nassau County. The 44-foot lot bridge was built by the members of the Kiwanis Club of the Massapequas to enable the youngsters who used to fish off the dangerous Clark Street Bridge to enjoy fishing in a much safer place.
