+The Harbor Lane Library offers programs on an ongoing basis including aerobics and toning classes, Mondays, 7:30 p.m.; Tournament Scrabble, Mondays, 11 a.m..; Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m.; strength training classes for seniors, Monday mornings, 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m; Mah Jongg, Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.; line dancing, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. and Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m. Contact the library for details.

+In the Downstairs Gallery of the Harbor Lane Library, the Wednesday Morning Art Class will have its annual art show during the month of May.

+On Saturday, May 12, 11 a.m. to noon a babysitter's job fair will be held at the Harbor Lane meeting room. Sitters should bring their babysitter's certificate to the fair. There is no registration for this program; parents and sitters should just come down.

+The Teen Advisory Board will meet Saturday, May 12, 3 p.m. at the Central Avenue building. The group will finish process the books from the winter field trip. Then the next window painting project for Central Avenue during the summer will be discussed. Community service credit will be awarded.

+Both locations of the Library will be closed Sunday, May 13 in observance of Mother's Day.

+On Monday, May 21, the library has organized a bus trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for an Amish in home dinner and dairy tour. The cost is $77 per person. Registration is underway.

+The volunteers are in the library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation.

+The movie Dreamgirls will be shown Thursday, May 10, 7:30 p.m. and Friday, May 11, 1:30 p.m. Doors open one half hour in advance.

+The Short Story Group will meet Monday, May 14, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Copies are available at the reference desk.

+On Tuesday, May 15, 1 p.m. health nutrition and wellness expert Alice Kaufman will talk about osteoporosis and the various foods you can eat to help prevent the disease. +A parent support group will meet Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m. for parents only.

+On Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m. Parenting 101 will be offered by Tina Rotstein, CSW from the North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center.

+The Plainedge Library is offering a trip to "Behind the Scenes NYC" to the New York Public Library, lunch at Vita Restaurant and The Amato Opera Theater, Tuesday, May 29, 9:45 p.m. The cost is $80. Registration is under way.

+A program in Microsoft Word will be offered, Saturday, May 12, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a fee of $23. There is a limit of one person per computer. Registration is underway.

+The Rhythm Kings music will perform Afro- Cuban music, Thursday, May 17, 7 to 8 p.m. Performers are Napoleon Revels-Bay on drums, Bryan Carott on percussion, Paul Ramsey on bass and Daniel Kelly on piano.
