Joan De Stio: former Massapequa Park Homemaker

Former longtime Massapequa Park resident Joan (Scholl) De Stio died April 22, 2007 at her home in Winter Garden, Florida. She was 75 years old.

Born in Woodhaven, Queens on July 8, 1931 to Henry and Frances School, she spent her life taking care of her home and family. According to her husband, she was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church. She lived on Cypress Street in Massapequa Park for 36 years before moving to Winter Park, Florida in 1990.

Mrs. De Stio leaves behind her husband Mike of Winter Garden, Florida; her son, Mark and his wife Cheryl of Massapequa; her sisters-in-law: Jane of Winter Garden, Florida and Margaret of Alphretta, Georgia; her brother-in-law: Vinny of Winter Garden, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Henry Scholl, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said April 25, 2007 at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Winter Garden, Florida followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
