Planting Fields to host a Gala in the Rose Garden Planting Fields Foundation will hold a Gala in the formal Rose Garden at Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park in Oyster Bay on Saturday evening, June 23. All monies raised benefit Planting Fields' new Visitor Center, and the Foundation's educational mission. The Rose Garden is especially lovely this spring, as the site of the new David Austin Trial Garden - one of only four in the U.S.- and promised to be the setting for a magical evening. In a décor created by Murphy & Co., guests will enjoy cocktails and a sumptuous feast served by Elegant Affairs, dance to the music of Current Affair, and bid on a select group of live auction items with auctioneer John Gambling. Guests will arrive through the historic Carshalton Gates, and make their way up the original winding drive to the Rose Arbor. On the Rose Garden lawn, they will be plied with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres created by Elegant Affairs of Glen Cove. Seated dining begins at 8pm, in a tent decorated for the evening by designer Kevin Murphy and Murphy & Co. of Locust Valley. After dinner, guests will have the chance to bid on an oil painting created for the event by world-renowned artist David Peikon, an evening aboard a local yacht, an extraordinary piece of jewelry from Ron Rizzo Jewelers and other choice items. Tickets are $300 each. Sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information and to purchase tickets and sponsorships, please contact Mary Jean Hunt at 922-8678.
All proceeds support Planting Fields Foundation, the support organization for Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park. The Foundation's mission is to educate, enrich and entertain guests of all ages. Planting Fields Foundation also works in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, in interpreting and preserving Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park for the visiting public.
