+Both branches of the Library will be closed Sunday, May 27 and Monday, May 28 in honor of Memorial Day.

+The Harbor Lane Library offers programs on an ongoing basis including aerobics and toning classes, Mondays, 7:30 p.m.; Tournament Scrabble, Mondays, 11 a.m..; Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m.; strength training classes for seniors, Monday mornings, 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m; Mah Jongg, Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.; line dancing, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. and Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m. Contact the library for details.

+In the Downstairs Gallery of the Harbor Lane Library, the Wednesday Morning Art Class will have its annual art show.

+The Harbor lane Library along with the Greater Nassau Chorus will host a Ladies Vocal Harmony Workshop, Thursday, May 31, 7:30 p.m. Master Director Harriette Walters will conduct an evening of vocal instruction in singing a cappella four-part harmony in today's modern barbershop style. Register by calling 799-0770, extension 316 and leaving your name and phone number.

+On Thursday, June 6, 9:30 a.m. Gloria Glick will host an art workshop for intermediate and advanced painters using oils, acrylics or pastels. The fee is $20. Register by phone at 799-0770, extension 316.

+Stu Gershon will host a program entitled Digital Photography - Special Projects, Wednesday, June 6, 7 p.m. Farmingdale 116 Merritts Road 249-9090

+The volunteers are in the library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation.

+The Library is offering two trips. On Tuesday, July 17, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. three will be a bus trip to Connecticut and a boat ride to the Thimble Island. The cost is $73 per person. Then there will be a trip to the Atlantis Aquarium, Riverhead, Tuesday, August 7, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $68 per person. Registration is underway.

+On Thursday, May 31, 1 p.m. a representative from SafeGuard Credit Counseling Service will discuss options available to seniors to help them live and cope on Long Island.

+The Library is holding a bus trip, Thursday, June 7, for a luncheon cruise on the Bateaux New York yacht. The bus departs 9:45 a.m. Afterwards, you will return to the bus and then enjoy a threehour guided tour of the "highlights" of New York City. The cost is $79 payable by check or money order. The return time for the trip is 7 p.m., depending on traffic conditions.

+The Amityville Public Library invites you to be a part of its history by purchasing a brick to be placed in the Centennial Anniversary Garden walkway. Bricks can celebrate a happy event, commemorate an achievement, memorialize a loved one, or honor an organization. The Garden is a living landmark celebrating 100 years of service to the community. Order forms are available at the Library. The cost of each engraved brick $75 and allows for up to three lines of 14 characters each. Order form, with payment, must be submitted by July 31.
