Hagedorn Little Village School holds Golden Rule Dinner kick off meeting
The 2006 award sent to Scott Charney, president of Charney Marketing Services located in Massapequa. This year the Hagedorn Little Village School, Jack Joel Center for Special Children is privileged to present the award to Bruce "Cousin Brucie" Morrow, the radio DJ and announcer. Also receiving a memorial award will be the family of Susan Weshler, a longtime support and good friend of the Hagedorn Little Village School. Robert Brooks, trustee and a resident of Port Washington, this year's dinner chairman, made the arrangements with "Cousin Brucie" and for the radio legend to bring in the Doo Wop groups Lenny Cocco and the Chimes and Earl Lewis and the Channels. Founded by Caryl Bank, Ph.D. and Barbara Feingold, Ph.D. in 1969, the Little Village School, located at 750 Hicksville Rd., Seaford/North Massapequa, has been delivering a comprehensive network of programs and services for infants and young children with developmental disabilities. The Hagedorn Little Village School is tuitionfree. The school exists mostly due to government funding, however, with the declining government support, the survival of Little Village and its programs depends on outside help.
