At the Library... +The biannual Writing Our Stories Literary Tea will be held at the Harbor Lane Library, Thursday, June 7, 1 p.m. There will be a public reading of the works of all group members and interested parties are invited. Refreshments will be served. +On Friday, June 8, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Lauren and LInda Rendina will teacher a denim bag craft at the Central Avenue Library. Each participants will received a bag to take home. There is a $3 materials fee. +On Monday, June 11, registration for the Teen Summer Reading Program YouNeverKnow@YourLibrary begins in the adult reference department at both buildings. Call Peter Cirona at 798-4607, extension 305 with questions or to register. +The Harbor Lane Library will host Financial Planning in an Uncertain World by Brian Laibach, financial advisor with Citigroup Smith Barney, Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m. Refreshments will be served. +On June 9, 2 p.m. Dr. Robert Crimi will offer a health and wellness seminar,Posture and Your Health, at the Harbor Lane Library. +The Contemporary Book Discussion Group will meet Tuesday, June 12, 12:30 p.m. at the Harbor Lane Library. This month's book is Hot Ice by Nora Roberts.
+The Harbor Lane Library in cooperation with the Great South Bay Forum will present, How Do We Get Out of Iraq, Wednesday, June 13, 7:30 p.m. +The volunteers are in the library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation. +The Library is offering two trips. On Tuesday, July 17, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. three will be a bus trip to Connecticut and a boat ride to the Thimble Island. The cost is $73 per person. Then there will be a trip to the Atlantis Aquarium, Riverhead, Tuesday, August 7, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $68 per person. Registration is underway.
+The movie Flags of Our Fathers will be shown Thursday, June 7, 7:30 p.m. and Friday, June 8, 1:30 p.m. Doors open one half hour prior to movie. +The Amityville Public Library invites you to be a part of its history by purchasing a brick to be placed in the Centennial Anniversary Garden walkway. Bricks can celebrate a happy event, commemorate an achievement, memorialize a loved one, or honor an organization. The Garden is a living landmark celebrating 100 years of service to the community. Order forms are available at the Library. The cost of each engraved brick $75 and allows for up to three lines of 14 characters each. Order form, with payment, must be submitted by July 31.
