Woodward Pkwy. donates to the Little Louie Foundation by making cuddle blankets

On Tuesday, March 6, members of the Woodward Parkway Student Council, invited representatives from the Little Louie Foundation to talk to the children. The student council agreed to support the Foundation by spending an afternoon making miniature cuddle blankets, which will be donated as part of a care package to children who are diagnosed with brain cancer. Under the leadership of Mrs. R. Korn, and representatives Barbara Greco, Liz Greco and Kathy Brown, the children spent their afternoon making blankets. The children chose their patterns to make the

no sew" blankets and by the end of the day, the students had created 20 beautiful blankets to donate.

The Little Louie Foundation was founded to help fund Little Louie's treatment of cancer last April. Unfortunately, Louie, 16 months old at the time of diagnosis, died within one month. Louie's parents, Erin and Pat Cuomo, decided to continue the Foundation to help other families fight the disease and help fund research to find a cause and a cure.

Students of the Woodward Parkway School, Farmingdale, learned a great deal from this experience. They have not only learned to help others, but they have also experienced how good it feels to help others. Learn more about the Foundation and other activities for students at TheLittleLouieFund.org.
