Terry Pieper celebrates 10 years at Quirk's Irish Gifts

Terry Pieper, a resident of Amityville recently celebrated 10 years with Quirk's Irish Gifts. According to Barbara Garwood, the owner of the store, Pieper has been a cornerstone of inventory control for Waterford Crystal, Imported Foods, music and more.

Pieper hails from Dublin City and was born in the family home directly behind Guinness Brewery. She was vice president of the Dublin Society of New York for four years.

When she was 19, she came to the United States. She lived in Copiague where she and her husband raised their three children and then moved to New Jersey. She came back to Long Island and settled in Amityville 11 years ago.

While in New Jersey, she worked for a manufacturing company but decided when she moved back to Long Island that she wanted something that was more meaningful to her. On a visit to her favorite restaurant, Katy Daly's, she saw Quirk's Irish Gift shop and thought, "that would be perfect for me." She sent in her application and was eventually hired.

Quirk's Irish Gifts has since relocated in the K Mart Shopping Center on Montauk Highway, West Babylon. Pieper can be reached there, ready to serve you, at 631-422-4211.
