Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation. •On Thursday, July 26, John Hanc will discuss his book Jones Beach: an illustrated history. •Thursday Delights will be held Thursday, July 26, 7 p.m. for all ages and a parent. Each week will be a different activity and seating is first come, first served. •Attorneys Cheryl Fratello and Kathleen Fox will discuss how to plan in advance for an unexpected disability by using properly drafted power of attorney, health care proxy and a living will on Friday, July 27, 11 a.m. •Magic Al will be at the Library, Friday, July 27, 10 a.m. for all ages and a parent. •On Monday, July 30, 6 or 7 p.m. there will be Socialization at My Fun Place for all ages with special needs. Call the Library to check the time. •Computer Second Grade will be offered Tuesday, July 31, 7 p.m. This class provides an introduction to the Windows environment.
•World traveler Laurie Campbell will give a slide show tour of Ireland, Tuesday, July 31, 1 p.m. Registration is underway. •Registration is underway for a land and sea tour of the Jumbo Barnum Museum in Bridgeport, Connecticut. with "Mark Twain", Thursday, August 2, 7:45 a.m. The $85 feet includes lunch. The trip is by motorcoach and the Port Jefferson Ferry. •Registration is now underway for the Little Patron's Enrichment Program for three and four year olds. The program is run by certified teacher Linda Martella and covers: alleviation of separation anxiety, kindergarten readiness, pre-writing skills, interactive play, storytime and craft. The cost is $750 for three days for four years olds and $550 for two days for three year olds. The program runs September to May. For information call Pat at 735-4133.
•On Tuesday, July 31, 7 to 8:30 p.m. a pedicure workshop will be held for young adults in sixth grade and up. The $7 fee covers the cost of the pedicure kit. •The Amityville Public Library invites you to be a part of its history by purchasing a brick to be placed in the Centennial Anniversary Garden walkway. Bricks can celebrate a happy event, commemorate an achievement, memorialize a loved one, or honor an organization. The Garden is a living landmark celebrating 100 years of service to the community. Order forms are available at the Library. The cost of each engraved brick is $75 and allows for up to three lines of 14 characters each. Order form, with payment, must be submitted by July 31.
