  • A Notary Public is available by appointment only at both locations of the Massapequa Public Library.

  • Senior Connections Information and Referral Service will be at the Central Avenue Library, Mondays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon and at the Bar Harbor Library, Monday and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to noon. For information, call 798-4607, extension 322.

  • The Harbor Lane Library will host a seminar on Understanding the Difference between managed accounts and mutual funds, presented by Brian Laibach, financial advisor on Wednesday, August 15, 7:30 p.m.

  • The Harbor Lane Library will host a representative from the Nassau County Department of Assessment on Wednesday, August 15, 2 p.m. Stop by to pick up or drop off exemption applications or to ask any questions you may have. Refreshments will be served.

  • The volunteers are in the Library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation.

  • On Thursday, August 9, 1 p.m., Seena Edelman will present her custom-made video presentation on the great Hollywood comedians of the past. Registration is underway.

  • Come to make an adorable crown, Thursday, August 9, 2:30 p.m. for all ages and a parent. Registration is underway.

  • Walk-in crafts from the Summer Reading Club will be available Thursday, August 9, 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Craft must be completed at the library.

  • A program on long term care will be offered Monday, August 13, 11 a.m. by Carol Kaplowitz of the Institute for Health and Life Planning.

  • On Tuesday, August 14, 7 to 9 p.m. Lucy Van Horn will explain why breakfast is the most important meal of the day. She will prepare unusual waffles, curried eggs, ricotta pancakes and a hot cheese sandwich.

  • Registration is now underway for the Little Patron's Enrichment Program for three and four year olds. The program is run by certified teacher Linda Martella and covers: alleviation of separation anxiety, kindergarten readiness, pre-writing skills, interactive play, storytime and craft. The cost is $750 for three days for four years olds and $550 for two days for three year olds. The program runs September to May. For information, call Pat at 735-4133.
