  • A Notary Public is available by appointment only at both locations of the Massapequa Public Library.

  • Senior Connections Information and Referral Service will be at the Central Avenue Library, Mondays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon and at the Bar Harbor Library, Monday and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to noon. For information call 798-4607, extension 322.

  • The Harbor Lane Library will host a seminar on Understanding the Difference between managed accounts and mutual funds, presented by Brian Laibach, financial advisor on tonight, Wednesday, August 15, 7:30 p.m.

  • The Harbor Lane Library will host an outdoor country western concert Thursday, August 17, 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot. Sherry Palencia and her country western line dancers will have you dancing. If it rains, the program will be moved into the auditorium.

  • The volunteers are in the library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation.

  • On Thursday, August 16, 7 p.m. Lucy Van Horn will make a demonstration on both sweet and savory crepes. Registration is underway.

  • A family craft clean up will be held Thursday, August 16, 2:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. for all ages and a parent. This is the chance to make up what you've missed.

  • The movie Astronaut Farmer will be shown Thursday, August 16, 7:30 p.m. and Friday, August 17, 1:30 p.m. the doors open one half hour in advance.

  • Playtime at my Fun Place will be held Monday, August 20, 7 p.m.

  • On Monday, August 20, 7 p.m. criminal justice professor Edward Maggio will cover the basics of forensic science and criminal investigation. Learn the true and fictional aspects of some of your favorite TV show. Registration is underway.

  • The movie Gigi will be shown Monday, August 20, 2 p.m.

  • Registration is now underway for the Little Patron's Enrichment Program for three and four year olds. The program is run by certified teacher Linda Martella and covers: alleviation of separation anxiety, kindergarten readiness, pre-writing skills, interactive play, storytime and craft. The cost is $750 for three days for four years olds and $550 for two days for three year olds. The program runs September to May. For information call Pat at 735-4133.

  • Registration is underway for a land and sea trip to the Jumbo Barnum Museum in Bridgeport with "Mark Twain" by luxury motorcoach to the Port Jefferson Ferry on Thursday, September 20, 7:45 a.m. with an approximate return time of 7:45 p.m. After the museum, lunch will take place in an inn in Bethel with touring of the town afterward. The cost is $85.
