      The Nassau County Police Department hosted its annual open house recently and Nassau County Legislator Peter J. Schmitt made arrangements for the children from Unqua and McKenna Elementary Schools to visit and see the inner workings of the Police Department.

Town to hold 9/11 Memorial ceremony
      Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto invites all residents to attend the Town's September 11 memorial ceremony on Monday, September 10, at the Town's 9/11 Memorial at Tobay Beach. The event, which will include a candlelight ceremony, is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Historical Society Strawberry Fest
      N.C. Leg. Schmitt made a stop at the Massapequa Historical Society's annual Strawberry Festival held in June. He is shown with organizers and shoppers who used the opporrtunity to purchase crates of fresh, sweet strawberries and other fruit treats.
