Massapequa HS graduate signs professional baseball contract

Ben Dashefsky, a 2003 graduate of Massapequa, where he played varsity baseball under Coach Bob Dell, is playing professional baseball on the Petach Tikva Pioneers in the inaugural season of the Israel Baseball League after being signed to a contract by Dan Duquette. Dashefsky is managed by former Major League player Ken Holtzman and is the starting right fielder

Prior to playing in Israel, Dashefsky, a 2007 graduate of Brandeis University, Waltham Massachusetts, had a successful collegiate career as the fouryear starting right fielder. He earned "rookie of the year" honors in the University Athletic Association during his freshman year at Brandeis and was designated to the "all-conference team" of the University Athletic Association for three years. Dashefsky was selected as a team captain during his senior year at Brandeis. He is the son of Paul and Amy Dashefsky.
