•The Harbor Lane Library offers programs on an ongoing basis including aerobics and toning classes, Mondays, 7:30 p.m.; Tournament Scrabble, Mondays, 11 a.m..; Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m.; strength training classes for seniors, Monday mornings, 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m; Mah Jongg, Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.; line dancing, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. Contact the Library for details.

•A Notary Public is available by appointment only at both locations of the Massapequa Public Library.

•Senior Connections Information and Referral Service will be at the Central Avenue Library, Mondays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon and at the Bar Harbor Library, Monday and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to noon. For information, call 798-4607, extension 322.

•The work of local photographer Jessica Rooney will be on display in the downstairs gallery of the Harbor Lane Library during the month of September.

•On Sunday, September 9, 2 p.m. the Long Island Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra will perform at the Harbor Lane Library.

•Brian Laibach, financial advisor, will offer a seminar on Market Volatility and the Long Term Investor, Wednesday, September 12, 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Lane Library.

•The volunteers are in the library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation.

•The Farmingdale Library holds ongoing programs. For the month of September the Poetry Group will meet Wednesdays, September 5 and 19, 7 to 9 p.m.; the Short Story Group meets Mondays, September 10, 17 and 24, 10:30 a.m. to noon and the Writer's Group meets Wednesdays, September 12 and 26, 7 to 9 p.m.

•Work by the residents of PLUS Group Home will be on display in the Gallery for the month of September.

•Registration is underway for a bus trip to the Al Hirschfeld Theater to see the Broadway show, Curtains, Wednesday, November 7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fee is $157 per person. Lunch will take place at Vita's on 46th Street.

•Suzanne Ernst teaches Tai Chi, September 11, 18 and 25. The fee is $10 per person payable by check only to the Farmingdale Public Library.

•On Sunday, September 9, 2 p.m., Glen Anthony will perform as the Last of the Clean comedians.

•The movie South Pacific will be shown Monday, September 10, 2 p.m.

•Registration is now underway for the Little Patron's Enrichment Program for three and four year olds. The program is run by certified teacher Linda Martella and covers: alleviation of separation anxiety, kindergarten readiness, pre-writing skills, interactive play, storytime and craft. The cost is $750 for three days for four years olds and $550 for two days for three year olds. The program runs September to May. For information call Pat at 735-4133.

•Registration is underway for a land and sea trip to the Jumbo Barnum Museum in Bridgeport with "Mark Twain" by luxury motorcoach to the Port Jefferson Ferry on Thursday, September 20, 7:45 a.m. with an approximate return time of 7:45 p.m. After the museum, lunch will take place in an inn in Bethel with touring of the town afterward. The cost is $85.

•Stu Gershon, The Digital doctor returns to assist in organizing your hard drive, Tuesday, September 11, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Learn where your data is located and how to organize your information. This is not a hands-on class.
