Birch Lane students participate in science and technology competition

Mayor James Altadonna and the Board of Trustees recently congratulated Birch Lane students and their Coach Brian Mulcahy at a recent Board meeting. This group of Birch Lane sixth graders took part in the Christopher Columbus Awards National Competition and earned a place in the finals for their pooperscooper for goose droppings. The Competition challenges students to identify an issue and use science and technology to develop a solution.

Shown, left to right, front row, are Nicholette Festa, Grace Hoar, Arielle Dhaim and Cassandra Chiocco and in the back row are Deputy Mayor Joseph Pinto, Trustee Jeff Pravato, Coach Brian Mulcahy, Mayor James Altadonna, Trustee Harry Jacobson and Trustee Teresa Spinosa.
