The program is run by certified teacher Linda Martella and covers: alleviation of separation anxiety, kindergarten readiness, pre-writing skills, interactive play, storytime and craft. The cost is $750 for three days for four years olds and $550 for two days for three year olds. The program runs September to May. Most of the items on display were hand-quilted by local residents, or those from our neighboring communities. Some quilts are collectible items, dating back to the turn of the 20th century, including a 1906 red work quilt, a silk World War 1 cigarette card quilt and a circa 1900 cigar box felt quilt. Designs such as flying geese, a maple leaf and baby blocks can be found in the quilts handmade by our community of quilters. This display commemorates the Amityville Public Library's Centennial Celebration.
