•The Harbor Lane Library offers programs on an ongoing basis including aerobics and toning classes, Mondays, 7:30 p.m.; Tournament Scrabble, Mondays, 11 a.m..; Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m.; strength training classes for seniors, Monday mornings, 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m; Mah Jongg, Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.; line dancing, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. and Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m. Contact the library for details.

•The photography of Tasso Vendikos will be on display is the Downstairs Gallery of the Harbor Lane Library during the month of October. An artist's reception will be held Saturday, October 6, 1 p.m. in the meeting room of the Library. Refreshments will be served.

•The Harbor Lane Library will host a seminar on financial wealth and well-being with nutritional health and wellness with financial advisor Tom Raad and holistic nurse Elizabeth Primiano, tonight, Wednesday, October 3, 7:30 p.m. The evening's topic will be Arriving at Retirement: Will my Income Last? and Your Health: Cleansing for Life. Then on October 10, 10 a.m. they will cover Tax Free Investing and Income and Ancient Health Benefits of Essential Oils.

•On Thursday, October 4, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Harbor Lane Library, Emilia Rabito Baer will hold a workshop on one stroke painting plus. Registration is required. The materials fee is due at registration and includes all materials.

•A contemporary book discussion group will be held Tuesday,October 9, 12:30 p.m. at the Harbor Lane Library. This month's book is Iron Orchid by Stuart Woods.

•Professional organizer Judi Cohen will offer a program on the Basics of Organizing Wednesday, October 10, 2 p.m. at the harbor Lane Library.

•Registration is underway for a bus trip to the Al Hirschfeld Theater to see the Broadway show, Curtains, Wednesday, November 7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fee is $157 per person. Lunch will take place at Vita's on 46th Street.

•Nicole Tzen will teach yoga, Wednesdays, October 3, 10, 17 and 24, 6 p.m. the fee is $10 per person. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a towel or mat. The fee is payable by check only to the Farmingdale Public Library.

•Registration is underway for senior aerobic dancercise with instructor Mary Ellen Zaharia, Thursday mornings, through January 10, 2008, 10 to 11 a.m. or 11 a.m. to noon. This low impact program is designed for the needs and abilities of seniors 55 and over. It includes movements for increased flexibility and cardiovascular improvement done to a medley of appealing music.

•Zaharia will also offer aerobic dancercise, Thursdays, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., through January 10, 2008. Registration is underway.

•There is still room to join in yoga classes given by Registered Yoga Teacher Edith Jason, Monday mornings, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. through November 12 with no session on October 8. Dress comfortably and bring a tapas sticky mat, exercise mat or thick blanket and a small throw pillow. The fee of $64 for eight session will be prorated.

•The Amityville Public Library's children's department will be holding in-person registration for all its fall/winter children's programs as of Monday, October 1, 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. No phone registration will be accepted for the first week and programs are limited to only Amityville Public Library patrons.
