Oct. 7 Bike-a-thon

Scott "Bubba" Pollock overcame birth defects (no arms and malformed legs) to be able to play basketball in a motorized wheelchair. He not only played basketball, but also was the leading scorer for his team at the Henry Viscardi School, before he died at the age of 16 of an aneurism.

The First Annual "Bike-For-Bubba" Bike-athon will take place on Sunday, October 7, 7:30 a.m. at the Massapequa train station parking lot (east end). The rain date will be October 14.

The Bubba Fund is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to creating and supporting programs that will enhance the lives of individuals with physical disabilities. All donations go directly to the Bubba Fund.

Contact Donna M. Mulato at 516-680-5425 or Mady Pollock at 516-384-7352 for event details.
