Oyster Bay to hold budget hearing Oct. 16

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto announced that the Town Board will hold a day and night hearing on Tuesday, October 16, on the proposed 2008 preliminary Town budget of $219,312,446 that keeps the tax rate at the same level as 2007.

"The proposed 2008 Town budget is a straight-forward, fiscally responsible plan that provides the level of recurring revenue to keep the Town on sound financial footing," Supervisor Venditto stated. "All proposed spending has been thoroughly analyzed and the result is a lean, costefficient budget that enables Town departments to efficiently and effectively provide the programs and services that make Oyster Bay such a desirable place to live. Most importantly, it holds the General Town tax rate at the 2007 level."

The hearings will be held in the Hearing Hearing R Hearing Room of Town Hall North, 54 Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay beginning at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Following the regular Town business, the Town Board will be available to listen to public comment on any subject.
